Week 10 Reading Reflection
This week’s reading gave me no major surprises.
I am nearly 2/3 done with my Financial Accounting course here at UF and this
information was purely review. I had never seen the linear regression equation
before, but I have learned about budgets and the use of forecasting in my
Management class, also here at UF. Similarly, I had never seen the capital
budgeting or contribution margin formulas so it was confusing to me initially. I
guess I would ask the author what he thinks the benefits of an accounting degree
are and how to best utilize an accounting degree to its fullest extent as an
aspiring entrepreneur. Those questions intrigue me because I plan to graduate
with an Accounting major and Entrepreneurship minor. However, I think I would
enjoy being more of an intra-praneur in an accounting or law firm. I don’t
disagree with anything the author said; it was mostly facts and regurgitation
of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP rules) that I already knew in detail.
